Matchups:Ravens at Giants
The Ravens are ranked second in total defense and the Giants are third. So you know what's coming, and that's a healthy dose of Brandon Jacobs banging heads with Ray Lewis. For the defensive-minded fan this game will be a treat. The New York and Baltimore defenses are the best plays here. Meanwhile, people are still scratching their heads about how Ravens coach John Harbaugh will use his running back rotation.
Five-Star Players
Giants defense/special teams. Twenty seven of the Giants' 30 sacks have come from their defensive line. That's pretty strong considering Michael Strahan retired and Osi Umenyiora has missed the entire season with a knee injury. It also means the Giants can get pressure on rookie Joe Flacco without involving the linebackers or defensive backs much, therefore tightening the coverage downfield. New York has caused plenty of turnovers; this week shouldn't be different.
K John Carney, Giants. With Lawrence Tynes healthy it can feel like a crapshoot with Carney on game day. You might have to carry an extra kicker in order to use Carney with confidence, which is something most fantasy owners don't like to do. But you can't argue with Carney's production. He's first among kickers with 90 points this season, so he has been worth the risk to this point.
