| Rookie Bradshaw 'day to day' with leg injury
Now, Coughlin said he doesn’t think it’s very serious and considered it only “a day to day thing.” But the rookie running back won’t practice, so that’s something to watch as the week goes on.
WR Sinorice Moss (back) and CB Kevin Dockery (hip flexor) are the only other players not scheduled to practice today.
What’s that? Someone is missing from that list, you say?
Well, apparently Plaxico Burress (ankle) will practice today for just the third time this regular season. The timing seems a little odd, given that it’s Week 17 and he theoretically has a chance to get some rest before the playoffs, but Tom Coughlin said “The medical people thought that there wasn’t much of a risk of a setback. And Plaxico wants to practice.”
The plan is to get Burress about two reps out of every 8-10 plays.
Interesting. Perhaps that’s an indication of Coughlin’s plan for Saturday night? If he’s not willing to rest a guy like Burress during practice, maybe he’s not planning to rest him during a game either?
Coughlin wouldn’t give any hints at his press conference today, other than saying “The 45 guys that dress will play as hard as they can.” He expects his 45-man active roster to be similar to what it’s been all season, though he added the medical issues will be taken into consideration.
In other words, he’s not ready to tell us what he’s going to do.
By the way, the rest of the preliminary report includes RB Brandon Jacobs (ankle) and DT Manny Wright (ankle), but apparently they’ll both practice.
