New York Giants’ RB Charles Scott Injured in Car Accident
New York Giants running back Charles Scott, who spent the 2011 season on the practice squad, was severely injured in a car accident earlier this week in Louisiana.
Although details of the incident remain unclear, Scott was said to be a passenger in the car, and ended up in intensive care after sustaining "serious" injuries to both of his knees. He has since been removed from intensive care and gave a brief update via his Twitter account.
“I just want to thank all my friends, fans & family for the many needed prayers and support,” Scott tweeted. “I'm doing well and will be home soon. Love y'all.”
Scott was originally a sixth-round draft pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2010, and signed a reserve/future contract with Big Blue last winter.
