| LOCALS IN THE PROS: Bradshaw back for Giants
The latest highlight of Ahmad Bradshaw’s rookie season in the NFL occurred in Europe.
Ahmad Bradshaw appeared in his fifth game of the season and saw time on special teams for the New York Giants on Sunday in their 13-10 win over the Miami Dolphins at Wembley Stadium in London.
A former star at Graham High School, Ahmad Bradshaw had not played in New York’s three previous games.
Ahmad Bradshaw’s lone action on Sunday came in the third quarter as he returned a Jay Feely kickoff for 35 yards. That was his lone touch on the day.
Miller makes good
Former Honaker High School star Heath Miller once again had a qualify performance for the Pittsburgh Steelers in their 24-13 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday afternoon.
Miller caught two passes for 42 yards in the victory. For the season, the third-year tight end has caught 24 passes for 333 yards and four touchdowns.
Thomas Jones Denied Again
Thomas Jones’ touchdown drought continues for the New York Jets. Through seven games, the Powell Valley High School graduate has yet to score a touchdown.
In Sunday’s 13-3 loss to the Buffalo Bills, Jones had 70 yards on 16 carries and caught five passes for 34 yards. Yet, he failed to pick up six points for his team.
Jones has racked up 557 yards on 147 carries this season for the struggling Jets.
Franklin’s Latest
Defensive lineman Aubrayo Franklin (Science Hill) had one tackle for the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday in their 31-10 loss to the New Orleans Saints.
